My name is Katelyn Fegan, and I teach World History at Monterey High School in Lubbock ISD.
Q2: 🗺️ Social Studies encompasses a wide range of topics. What aspect of Social Studies do you find most fascinating and enjoy teaching the most, and why?
I love adding fun facts that are interesting to high school students. It makes the lesson come to life and helps them make real-world connections. I want my students to see that what we’re learning isn’t just history—it’s still important and relevant today.

I’ve seen students who wouldn’t normally participate in classroom discussions truly excel because of the way Exploros structures lessons and incorporates technology. It gives them a voice and a way to engage that they might not have in a traditional setting.

Exploros allows me to differentiate for all my students’ learning styles while still ensuring that everyone is receiving a quality and engaging lesson. I’ve also seen my test scores continue to improve, which shows just how effective this approach has been.
