In this experience, students are introduced to Texas folklorist J. Frank Dobie. Then they conduct research on famous Texas artists. Finally, they elaborate on the question, What makes someone a Texas artist? Students will collaborate in small groups for scenes 3 and 4. In scene 3, each group will research one of the following Texas artists: Roy Bedichek, Diane Gonzales Bertrand, Scott Joplin, Elisabet Ney, Amado Peña Jr., Walter Prescott Webb, and Horton Foote. Ensure that there are at least seven small groups. Note that there is no quiz at the end of this experience. Objective
