  • Describe the responsibilities of citizenship.


Do you know someone who was not born in the United States, but after living here for a number of years has become a U.S. citizen? When someone becomes a citizen, he or she has certain rights and responsibilities.

In this experience, you will discover how someone becomes a citizen of the United States, the process of naturalization, and the rights and responsibilities of non-citizen residents. Then you’ll identify the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizens and the responsibilities of young people as citizens. Finally, you’ll take a sample “naturalization test” and see how you would do answering questions about U.S. civics.
