The Pack contains associated resources for the learning experience, typically in the form of articles and videos. There is a teacher Pack (with only teacher information) and a student Pack (which contains only student information). As a teacher, you can toggle between both to see everything.
Here are the teacher pack items for Technology and the Future:
In this experience, students begin by thinking about the ways that technology affects their own lives. Then they learn about how technology has improved communication around the world—between individuals, businesses, nations, and cultures. Next, students examine ways that technology has improved the environment. Then they learn about ways that technology has also harmed the environment and they consider ways to decrease the negative impact. Finally, students consider what life will be like in the future based on the advance of technology. Note that there is no quiz at the end of this experience. Objectives:
A hundred years ago, how would you have communicated with your grandmother if she lived in a different state? You probably would not have communicated a lot. When you did, it could have been through face-to-face visits, handwritten letters, or a telephone system that was primitive by today’s standards. Technology has come a long way in the last 100 years. In this experience, you will explore some of those advances and the positive and negative effects.
Objectives:
As quickly as you can, write down all the ways that technology affects your life.
Now think about someone from another culture who lives far away from you. How do you think technology influences that person every day? Identify the culture and the type of person.
