Overview
In this experience, students examine how the federal government manages the economy through its monetary and fiscal policies, including the role of the Federal Reserve Board. Then they analyze different government regulations that affect the economy, and they evaluate the benefits and costs of environmental regulations. Finally they research a case where the government applied the Sherman Antitrust Act. Students will collaborate in small groups for scene 3 and scene 4. Objectives

You have also learned about some of the federal laws that protect workers, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act. In this lesson, you are going to learn about some ways that the federal government protects businesses from unfair competition. You will also learn how the government manages the economy.
