The Pack contains associated resources for the learning experience, typically in the form of articles and videos. There is a teacher Pack (with only teacher information) and a student Pack (which contains only student information). As a teacher, you can toggle between both to see everything.
Here are the teacher pack items for Europe: History and Its Influence: 17th to the 19th Centuries:
In this experience, students are introduced to the many changes of this era by considering the shift in thinking about a Sun-centric view of the universe. Then they explore three “revolutions” of this era—the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment and the French Revolution, and the Industrial Revolution. Finally, students write a paragraph that describes the revolutionary nature of these three eras and explains their influence on the lives of Europeans. This experience has a significant amount of historical information about Europe in the 17th through 19th centuries. You may choose to teach the experience over several days. A culminating activity could be to have students create one timeline for all the eras represented in this time period. Objectives:
Can you think of a type of revolution that doesn’t necessarily involve battles or weapons? A revolution can refer to a big change in the way society thinks about itself and its structure. In this experience, you are going to learn about some important changes in the 1600-1800s in Europe.
Objectives:
List a fact that you know about our solar system.
We take for granted that Earth revolves around the Sun, but that has not always been the human understanding of how the planets work. During the Middle Ages, most Europeans believed that the Sun revolved around Earth. During an era called the Scientific Revolution, new scientific knowledge revealed a different truth.
In this experience, you are going to explore some of the significant changes in thinking that took place during the 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s in Europe. When everyone is ready to continue, unlock the next scene.
