The Pack contains associated resources for the learning experience, typically in the form of articles and videos. There is a teacher Pack (with only teacher information) and a student Pack (which contains only student information). As a teacher, you can toggle between both to see everything.
Here are the teacher pack items for Europe: History and Its Influence: Europe and the World Wars:
Overview In this experience, students are introduced to Europe in the first half of the twentieth century. They learn about the causes and significant features of World War I. Then they explore and explain how and why Hitler was able to rise to power in the years after World War I. Next, they learn about key events in World War II. Finally, they learn about the Holocaust and write a personal diary response. It is impossible to cover both world wars in one experience in any real detail. This experience is designed as an overview. As you advance through the experience with students, emphasize the connection between geography and conflict. You may want to teach the experience over two sessions, focusing on World War I and its aftermath in one and World War II in a second. Objective:
The first half of the twentieth century was an era of two World Wars—horrific events that left a permanent mark on Europe and the world. In this experience, you will learn about those devastating times.
Objective:
What do you already know about the two World Wars? Write a fact or two in the table below.
Discuss students’ responses. Correct inaccurate information when necessary. Ask students if they know where the two wars began (Europe). Invite them to name the various countries on the two sides during the war if they know them.
When everyone is ready to continue, unlock the next scene.
